Washoe County insured recording statistics – August 2012 – New home sales crack triple digits

For the first since June 2009 new home sales have entered triple-digit territory. August saw 100 new homes sold in Washoe County. This number represents a 32 percent increase over the 76 new homes sold in July, and represents a 144 percent increase year-over year. These are great numbers; let’s hope the trend continues.

Resales are also up — clocking in at 778 units sold and boasting another record month for the year.

And re-fis continue to dominate recorded transactions — coming in at a whopping 957 for the month of August. That represents a 148 percent increase in the number of re-fis year-over-year.
