Reno Bites is happening now

…and will be going on all week.

What is Reno Bites? From the Reno Bites website:

Celebrate Reno’s burgeoning culinary scene with the first annual community-wide showcase of our local chefs’ talents and locally owned hotspots. Similar to restaurant weeks across the country, Reno Bites will feature prix fixe menus, signature items and specials, plus culinary events throughout Reno for an entire week of gastronomic giddiness. From fine dining to food trucks to fun and fresh fare, this is your opportunity to explore all the local cuisine Reno has to offer.

The event runs from October 22nd through October 28th. Pick a day (or night) and visit one of the participating restaurants that you’ve been wanting to try.

For an excellent description of the special Reno Bites menus at some of the participating restaurants, see Downtown Makeover’s comprehensive RenoBites page (click on the screenshot below).

Reno Bites

I met clients at SoDo last night for dinner. We sampled a variety of small plates that SoDo calls “bar bites”. The beef tacos and fish tacos were very tasty.

A sampling of Bar Bites at SoDo. Pictured: Smoked Brisket Beef Tacos; Beer Battered Fish Tacos; Jalapeno Crab Poppers w/ Mango Cilantro Vinaigrette; and Flatbread Pizza with Heirloom Tomatoes, Mozzarella and Fresh Basil.

Today, it’ll be Campo for lunch with friends.

Will you be enjoying Reno Bites this week? If so, which restaurant(s) are you planning on visiting?
