Character

Generally an older, established neighborhood. Across from the University you’ll find a mishmash of multiunit student housing, some old, some new. Further into the neighborhood, there’s an absolutely charming pocket of older, well-tended homes from the 20′s, 30′s and 40′s with brick or stone accents, beautiful lawns and mature landscaping. Further out, between Keystone and McCarran, it’s mostly starter ranch homes from the 50′s, with some larger newer home on the north side. As you get closer to McCarran, houses move from the 60′s to 70′s. Some areas are neat and clean while others are a little less so, but it’s a safe, affordable area with good schools and mature landscaping. As more people are priced out of Old Southwest, they’ll be buying in Old Northwest. There’s a lot of room for appreciation, and this is probably one of the better Reno neighborhoods for investment.

Love your information about the Reno neighborhoods….but is it up to date? Other comments on you site are from 2006 and 2010….how about an update?

Looking for investment property for rental purposes…around the Universities and other suggestions?

Just starting to do my research.
    Thanks
