Taking a moment to give thanks

November is the month for gratitude and for giving thanks. In keeping with that tradition I am posting today about a few things that I am grateful for this year.

This Blog’s Readers

Firstly, I want to thank the readers of this blog. You are the ones for whom I write and maintain this blog site. For well over a decade the Reno Realty Blog has provided up-to-date market data and real estate news on the Reno-Sparks housing market to its readers. And this year, per reader request, I began also including market data for the Fernley and Incline Village, Nevada markets.

Whether through increased postings, or through new areas covered, or through simply increased interest in real estate in general, 2018 saw an increase in readership and traffic to this blog. After having been in decline in recent years, year-to-date traffic already has exceeded 2017’s total for the year, and looks to be on track to match or exceed 2016’s annual total. Additionally, this blog’s average daily visitor count is up more than 17 percent over last year’s daily average.

It’s numbers like these that tell me that my efforts on this blog are worthwhile and appreciated. So Thank You Readers!

And, if I may ask a favor, please let me know what local real estate information and topics you would like to see covered in 2019. I want to hear from you!

My Clients

A big shout out goes to my clients — both past and present. Thank you for trusting me with your real estate needs and hiring me to help you with either the sale or purchase (or sometimes both) of your home. I truly appreciate your business. I realize you have many choices, so it means a great deal to me that you choose me.

And, an extra special thanks to my returning clients. Your loyalty warms my heart.

As your trust in me has grown, so too has my business. 2018 has been a record-setting year for my practice, and for this I am grateful. So, again, thank you to all of my clients for helping me to reach my goals this year, and may 2019 bring prosperity to us all.

Cultural Icon Award

Something unexpected happened this year. I was awarded the Cultural Icon award by my brokerage, Keller Williams Group One, Inc. To say I was pleasantly surprised by this would be a huge understatement.

The Cultural Icon award is one of the highest honors given by Keller Williams Realty. This recognition is awarded to an associate who exemplifies the Keller Williams culture at a high level through giving time, knowledge, kindness, and service to others.

The certificate I received reads: “Cultural Icon presented to Guy Johnson in recognition of being a shining example of the WI4C2TS and creating culture!”

Btw, WI4C2TS is the acronym for the Keller Williams Belief System and stands for:

  • Win-Win: or no deal
  • Integrity: do the right thing
  • Customers: always come first
  • Commitment: in all things
  • Communication: seek first to understand
  • Creativity: ideas before results
  • Teamwork: together everyone achieves more
  • Trust: starts with honesty
  • Success: results

Thank you Keller Williams Group One, Inc. for this recognition. I am truly honored.

#1 on Social Media

Another unexpected item of recognition from this year came from online marketing firm, PropertySpark, who named me as the #1 agent in Reno, Nevada for my Social Media presence. This title was a complete surprise and greatly appreciated.

From the PropertySpark website: “Since 2007, there has been one guy named Guy Johnson who has been helping people find their dream home while doing it all from Keller Williams Group One Inc. His expertise plus his passion for finding homes has made him a great real estate agent. He is the true social media superstar of Reno, Nevada. You can give him a follow and a like on his social media outlets which are his Twitter and Facebook account.”

Thank you PropertySpark for the accolade. I am honored.

Looking ahead to 2019

I was recently granted membership in the Incline Village REALTORS® association. With my new membership, I now have access to the MLS that covers the Incline Village, Nevada residential real estate market.
[Btw, I remain also a member of the Reno-Sparks Association of REALTORS®. So, no changes there.]

I also achieved the membership requirements to join the KW Luxury International Division of Keller Williams Realty. KW Luxury International is an exclusive network of real estate consultants who specialize in servicing the upper-tier home market. As a member of this group and its resources, I have expanded my practice to areas such as Incline Village, NV.

The new developments that occurred this year are to position my real estate business for continued growth in 2019. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with each and every one of you.

So, with that I will conclude this post with wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Here’s to your health, happiness, family, and friends! Cheers.
