November new home sales hit a high for the year with 95 new homes sold for the month. That’s eleven more new homes than were sold in October — or a 13 percent increase. Resale home sales, however, fell more than 15 percent for the month. This large drop in resales can partially explain by seasonal factors (e.g. last year resales fell 14.9 percent from October to November), however is also being precipitated by the current low resale inventory. Re-finances, driven by very low interest rates, continue to climb hitting a 16-month high.
