A co-worker turned me on to a cool site this past week called terabitz. Terabitz’ tag line is “every bit on real estate” and from the looks of this site they’re living up to that statement.
Terabitz is a fully customizable real estate web site that allows the user to integrate an unlimited amount of local neighborhood information, market research, schools, restaurants, crime and safety statistics, service providers, financial tools, and more in to their listings search results.
Here’s how it works: Select an area, neighborhood or specific street address; then choose the type of listings you would like to see (i.e. MLS, Craiglist, FSBOs, Foreclosures, etc. or all of the above); then on the map depicting your search results layer on information such as schools, grocery stores, child care, coffee shops, hospitals and even jails; then add on other info such as crime statistics, recent sales, and local neighbor photos. When you’re finished you can print, share or publish your customized neighborhood profile the way you see fit.

Additionally, your customized dashboard is dynamic in that it is constantly updated as entities fitting your criteria are added. This real estate mashup is pretty slick and sure to get better as more info is added.
As my co-worker remarked, "it’s tools like these that enable customers to know more about a neighborhood than their agent does."

Thank you for the nice posting. We, at Terabitz, will continue to add additional information as we license it. Please check out the recent addition of day care centers, senior care centers etc on our site.

Well, the concept is nice but it doesn’t work very well.
a) There is no way to center in on a specific neighborhood. If I put in a specific zip code it shows all of Reno. If I were about to draw a geo-fence around an area it would be nice.
b) It only shows 25 responses for each area. So, putting the craigslist rental deal (for example) adds 25 houses, none of whch are in the area I care about. Trying to minimize results through advanced searching doesn’t allow enough options.
c) MLS isn’t working for me.
d) Foreclosures requires me to have a foreclosure.com account. I’d be very interested in getting reliable and free foreclosure and NOD information, but I don’t know where to go for it. Most web sites want my credit card and I don’t trust them.

Terabitz is a nice concept but users want to find listings. Our new vertical real estate engine allows users to do exactly what “Faust” indicated. Search for specific types of real estate listings like foreclosures or FSBO’s in a single search and get community information in same search.
