Did you all see the story in the RGJ today about the dismal state of the housing market in Reno? Could it be that even the RGJ can no longer deny the obvious? I guess when new home sales fall by 64% in one year denial gets harder to maintain.
Even Brian Kaiser at UNR, who a year ago said 2007 would bring about an “adjustment” in the market, now sounds rather dismal himself. “The housing downturn is showing no signs of getting better at this point” he is quoted as saying. “I wouldn’t be surprised if 2008 is another bad year like 2007.”
