Here’s some innovative marketing. According to this Seller’s Craigslist ad, if you purchase his lot in Old Greenwood, he’ll throw in a house in Austin, TX for free. Check it out here.
And then here are couple flyers I received from builder D.R. Horton recently. The first one arrived a couple weeks ago for a new house priced at $349,362, with the pitch: “Make a (Reasonable) Offer”. [click on picture to enlarge]
Then last week I received a follow-up flyer that read: “Make a (unreasonable-$255,k) Offer”.
If I’m interpreting these flyers correctly then a reasonable offer on the $342,652 home could be anything above $255,000. Is that how you’re reading this? If so, then $255,001 would put this 2,228 sq.ft. home @ $114/sq.ft. Not bad for a new home in Wingfield Springs. Recent Solds (last three months) there are averaging $162/sq.ft.

I would interpret it the way it should be mathematically. E.g., x-25 is 5 if x=30.
So the price is: {unreasonable offer} – $255,000 right? So if unreasonable offer = $270,000 then your final offer is $15,000 😛
Or maybe it means that they should hire someone that can communicate effectively to write their ads? Maybe I have a dorky sense of humor? All of the above?
