Vote for Guy!

Inman News wants you to pick one individual who you think has made an impact on the real estate industry.  This year, RRB’s own Guy Johnson is one of the nominees eligible for the Peoples Choice Award, as well as a candidate for the prestigious Inman 100.  This is truly an honor, and much deserved one for Guy’s contributions moving the "art" of real estate into the modern era.  You can vote for Guy’s selection as the People’s Choice here.

Way to go, Guy!  We’re proud of you.

With all due respect, what impact has Guy made on the real estate industry?

Sure, he hosts this site (with significant content help from Mike McG. In fact, most of the original, investigative, stimulating posts are from Mike). But other than forwarding stuff from Amundson and his crew, what impact has Guy actually made?

Sorry boys, but it had to be said…

  4. Move to Reno?

I voted for Guy although I was tempted to vote for Lawrence Yun.

Harvey, Guy has played a huge role in keeping this blog running through the years.

harvey, guy has helped lots of us save thousands of dollars. the honesty here is brutal, the biases of the participants easily identified, and consequently, the blog has been an accurate decision making tool.

Aha! Blocked by Adblock Plus and Filterset.G. That’s why it shows “Closed” for me.

I think I’ll vote for Diane Cohn — the CREATOR of this blog, and the most brutally honest and informed real estate professional I’ve come across…

“we won, and the Delaware political system will never be the same.”

Thus sayeth the Princess Teabagger from Delaware. Now, buckle up, as the elephant prepares to lay its rather large nuts upon the donkey.

Either way, we are collectively screwed. So, buy some land in Reno, get some gold, and hunker down. Could be a rather interesting few decades…..

O’Donnell loses in Delaware. The Republicrats take the House. The Republicrats hold the Senate.
As if anything will be different.

  10. Walter

Yep. The Republicrats, the party of Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Bank of America, had a good night.

Did Ben Bernanke get voted out of office?

  12. RFuld

Mr. Bernanke is the King. Kings cannot be voted out of office. Elections are to provide the illusion to the masses that they are in control, to make them feel good.

    Harvey….

Diane mostly led the charge to start this truley dynamic forum that provides great and honest data (yes it has its ups and downs). So I guess i understand your comment… however you must be a new reader or new to the Reno RE game altogether… OR you have other motives.

Guy has kept this thing running by contributing great amounts of time and puts out great data. Why does he do this and then make it so transparent? Becuase he is a smart RE agent…… using data to analyze and information to formulate…………and quite frankly I know a few good and honest RE agents…. however those are truly hard to come by.

Guy’s (& Mike’s) blog is so informative and on the heartbeat of the market that not only does it have a large active readership but many of his professional peers come on here to learn about the trends, status & direction of the market…… rather than just relying on their usual Mr. Lawrence Yun & thier respective brokers.

If you are truly following the Reno RE market then you get your data from the following sources: some statistical sites [Housing Tracker, county assesors, RGJ (UNR), zillow], some good websites for house searching [Mitch Argon], but if you want additional trends, unique local data sets and the only place to get a true feel for the market and what the feeling of the market is st the street level….. you go to Reno Realty Blog…..
