First-quarter market stats for the Reno-Sparks and Lake Tahoe markets have been released by my broker, Chase International (click on the charts below to enlarge).
The comparisons in the graphs below are for Q1 2011 vs. Q1 2010. In the Reno-Sparks market, for single family houses, we see a 2 percent increase in sales volume, as well as a 6 percent increase in units sold.
Conversely, Reno-Sparks’ median sales price fell 6 percent, from $170,900 to $160,000, during the same period.
Lake Tahoe’s single family market saw a 23 percent increase in sales volume; a 6 percent increase in units sold; and an impressive 11 percent increase in the median sales price – from $510,294 to $564,500, during the same period.
