Here are a few national real estate-related stories that came across my desk this week…
- from MarketWatch: U.S. home prices rise; annual growth at 6-yr high
- from CNBC: Younger Buyers Jumping Into Retirement Real Estate
- from Inman News: Shadow inventory down 28% from peak
- from The New York Times: The Time, and Place, to Buy
- from Housingwire: The time to sell is a waiting game for some
- from CNNMoney: Home prices: Biggest rise since housing bubble
- from BusinessInsider: CHART OF THE DAY: That’s What A Housing Recovery Looks Like

Under Chart of the day:
“Of course some warn, that home prices are being driven by investor demand and not by more traditional homebuyers, and that the rise in home prices can’t be sustained.”
The last time I checked 2012 sales almost 20% were to out of state buyers and investor/flippers. I haven’t checked recent sales, but I would imagine a little bit of mortgage interest increase and AB284 problems getting resolved that this market will revert to the normal mean (where it should be) and that warning will become true in this area.
