The median sales price for houses and condos in the Reno-Sparks area increased nearly 25 percent in 2013. [December 2013 median ($207,000) compared to December 2012 median ($166,000) = 24.7% increase]
While all areas in our market experienced price increases in 2013, not all areas saw the same level of increase. In fact the variability was quite wide, with some areas seeing price increases more than three times that of other areas.
The table below shows Reno-Sparks’ increase in median sales price across the top-selling MLS areas [units sold]. To ensure I had enough data with which to analyze, I compared 2013’s 4th quarter sales to 2012’s 4th-quarter sales. I then sorted the results by greatest to smallest percent increase.
