Recently a client from out of state asked me if Reno, Nevada had any farmer’s markets. I replied that yes we certainly do. I was aware of three that I have attended plus another one in Sparks. But I knew there were likely more.
An internet search directed me to edible Reno-Tahoe’s webpage. [Btw, edible Reno-Tahoe is a quarterly publication that promotes and celebrates the abundance of local foods in the Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe region.] edible’s site had a comprehensive and up-to-date list of Reno-Tahoe area farmers markets, complete with days, times, addresses and contact info.
No matter in what part of Reno-Sparks you live, there’s a farmers market near you. Live in northwest Reno? Try the Somersett farmer’s market on Wednesday evenings. Live in southwest Reno? There’s the Summit Reno Farmers’ Market on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. Midtown? Yep. Thursday mornings.
edible Reno-Tahoe’s 2014 Farmers Market Guide lists ten farmer’s markets between Reno and Sparks, Nevada; and is updated frequently. But it doesn’t stop there; the list also contains farmer’s markets in towns across northern Nevada and the Lake Tahoe area. Check it out here.
