Developers announced this week that the Silver Club Hotel in downtown Sparks will be converted to, surprise, condos. 207 hotel rooms will morph into to 84 units ready for occupancy in mid-2007.
Cathexes is on the job, so the architecture should be good. Plans call for the building to fit the flavor of downtown Sparks (kitschy Victorian theme, an attempt at Disneyland’s Main Street only with slot machines and pawn shops, yet oddly charming). This is the first project I’ve heard of in this particular area. It’s one to watch.
