The buyers are coming out of the woodwork here in the Reno-Sparks market. Calls, email and showings are definitely up in my business, and I’m hearing similar news from many of my colleagues. That’s why the dearth of blog entries lately…
Sellers, these buyers have been watching the market for a long time and are truly searching for the best value. So if you’ve got a home you’ve been sitting on for a while, and it’s priced at near bottom compared to its competitors, I think you have a good chance of moving that property in the next couple of months. The buyers may offer low, ask for closing costs or include home sale contingencies, but counter at your comfort level and you may strike a deal.
I’ve been touring buyers in several price ranges, and my overall impression is that inventory is extremely plentiful. They have so much to look at and choose from, it can be daunting! Though much expired over the holidays, it seems like hundreds of so-called new listings came on the market right after the first. So buyers still have a lot to choose from, and sellers still need to be extremely competitive to sell their homes.
